What makes Perfect Homestay unique?

Our database gives users as much information as possible about chosen homestays, and automatically processes all the stages in the arrangements between host families and guests. Perfect Homestay is primarily a location site, but searches using a variety of options can be carried out on the database using our own search utility, allowing a highly detailed search. We aim to be the first multi-lingual site with a worldwide searchable database of homestays.

You can be guaranteed of finding quality host families, as our guest-feedback rating system will expose homestays that do not provide the quality of service they claim.


How does Perfect Homestay work?

Perfect Homestay holds the personal information of host families and their available booking times in its database which can be accessed by registered users searching for a family to stay with while traveling abroad. The database holds a number of arrangement letters and notifications that are automatically sent between the two parties until the booking is complete.


How does Perfect Homestay make money?

We offer the service free to host families who wish to upload their personal information. The user / guest can view all homestays but will need to pay a small fee of US$20 to obtain the contact information of 3 families and begin the automated communication process. Advertising space on our site also brings in some revenue.


How quickly can I get started?

  • As a hostfamily:
    After you have uploaded your information into our database our administrator will need to check it. Once it has been verified as non-offensive it will then be made viewable on our site, and can be searched for by using our search utility. It should only take 1 or 2 days at most.
  • As a site visitor (unregistered):
    You have full access to the site immediately, except that you can not rate homestays and see homestay full details.
  • As a site visitor (registered):
    Once registered you will have full access to all areas of the site


How can I become a member and get a username / password?

Just click on the "register" link on the username / password panel and input your details. Your application details will be automatically sent to us and once we have verified them we will activate your membership.


What is "Rating"?

After a user / guest has visited a homestay we ask them to return to Perfect Homestay and grade the different aspects of their stay. The rating system is done by giving a score from one to five. The scores from all users / guests are averaged out to give an overall rating for the different aspects. This is then displayed on the host family detail page for future users to view.


Who can Rate?

Only registered users who have purchased a ticket and stayed at that particular homestay – through our site – have the ability to rate.


How can I see a host family list in the USA or Canada?

Go to the "search for homestay" button on the main menu. Here you will see the search utility where you can search by many different options – one of them being location search.


How can I send a message to the host family?

After you buy a ticket and select your choice of family, the database will do all the work for you. We contact the family to make sure your request is accepted by them and then after you have also confirmed we will supply you both with each others details and you are free to continue communication with them.


How do I let the host family know when I want to stay with them?

When you choose your desired times on the booking calendar these times are automatically input into the message sent to the host family by our database, after you have purchased a ticket.


How do I buy tickets?

After you search for a homestay using the search utility on the "Search for Homestay" button, you will be taken to a list of homestays. Choose "more info..." when you find a homestay you`re interested in then you will see a "buy ticket" button.


Why do I get 3 tickets?

Some homestays may not be available to answer your request immediately or may not have updated their available dates. 3 tickets can be sent to your chosen families to make sure you are not disappointed. However, you will only be able to get the contact details of one of your chosen families.


What happens if I use a ticket to contact a homestay but get no reply?

If the family does not reply, then this is automatically registered by the database and your ticket is reimbursed allowing you to continue choosing until you have the contact details of a family of your choice.


What happens to my remaining tickets once I accept a homestay?

After both parties have accepted the remaining tickets are deleted.


How much does it cost to use Perfect Homestay?

There is a one-time fee of US$20 which guarantees you the contact details of a chosen homestay.


How much is the average price? What should I expect to pay for a homestay?

This is dependent on too many factors for us to give you an exact amount. Our advice is to watch our site and look at other similar homestays in that country, or similar homestays in other countries that have similar exchange rates.


Do I need to pay any taxes on the services?

No.


What currency does the homestay charge in?

The homestay charge is shown in US$.


Why is getting the contact details of a host family so cheap compared to other companies that offer this kind of service?

We have cut out the middle-man. You search for your choice of family yourself and put yourself into direct contact with the homestay through our database.


What do I do if the host family does not pick me up from the airport as arranged?

Unfortunately, we can not do anything in this event. Please view our 'Helpful Travel / Safety Info.' page. This page is designed to help prepare you for these kinds of things.


What happens if I don’t like the family after I arrive?

This is of course always a possibility. Please be sure to view our "Helpful Travel / Safety Info." page. You will find advice to this question on this page.


What happens if I can't make contact with a homestay of my choice?

After you purchase tickets and send a request to your homestay choices, the database contacts the host family on your behalf. You will therefore have received no contact details. If, at this stage, you are not satisfied because you have not received a positive response, we will immediately refund your full money with no questions asked. However, after you and the homestay have accepted each other on our database system, and their contact details have been given to you, we can not provide a refund.

What do I need to do to keep my data managed on Perfect Homestay?

There are really only two very important things you must do in order to be successful on Perfect Homestay . The first is to keep your booking availability times up-to-date. If you are consistently disappointing people who request to stay with you but can not because you have forgotten to update your availability times, then it will show in the ratings section of the site. The second is to keep an eye on your email. If you are sent an email from a user who is interested in staying with you, please return the confirmation mail as soon as possible, or they may consider you unavailable.


How much does it cost to advertise my home on Perfect Homestay?

It does not cost anything. The service is completely free for homestay owners. All you need to do is keep your information up-to-date.


How much is the average price? What should I charge for my homestay?

This is dependent on too many factors for us to give you an exact amount. Our advice is to watch our site and look at other similar homestays in your country, or similar homestays in other countries with similar exchange rates, and base your charges on theirs. It is a good way to start, and you can always adjust your cost as time goes on.


Do I need to pay any taxes on the services?

What currency should I charge in?

During the upload process you will be required to input your charges in US$. There is a link provided in that section that will take you to a currency converter where you can find this information easily.


What should I do if I can’t pick up the guest from the airport as arranged?

Please be sure to view our "Helpful Travel / Safety Info." page. You will find lots of useful information the user receives to make their trip safer. However, we should say that this arrival day can be a bit scary and you should make every effort possible to ensure you fulfill your promise and aid the user / guest to have a safe and comfortable stay. If you cannot meet the guest as arranged, please try to have someone meet them on your behalf.


What do we do if we can’t get along with the guest?
